PMI products under development

Connecting Rods:

Long-rod 230 and 250:

PMI leads the field in the development of applications of longer connecting rods in the OHC-6, in both 230 and 250 cubic inch displacements.  Long rods are custom made for specific engine applications.  These custom rod sets require PMI custom pistons.

Longer Rods:

Forged 6.000” length, with OHC big end and pin end dimensions. These are custom-order rods.  Rod/stroke ratio = 1.85 (230) / 1.70 (250)

Forged 6.125" length, with OHC big end and pin end dimensions.  These are custom-order rods.  Rod/stroke ratio = 1.88 (230) / 1.74 (250)

Forged 6.250" length,  with OHC big end and pin end dimensions.  These are custom-order rods.  Rod/stroke ratio = 1.92 (230) / 1.77 (250)

Floating Rods:

PMI is pioneering the use of floating rods in the OHC in-line six.  Floating rod technology allows the use of a far narrower rod than stock, reducing the rotating weight and reducing the crank drag.  In simple terms:  it frees up more horsepower for the wheels.

PMI builds customized rod sets to be perfectly matched to your specifications.  PMI floating rods can ONLY be used with PMI floating rod pistons.

PMI Super Stroke Rods:

Floating rod technology allows the use of a far narrower rod than stock, reducing the rotating weight and reducing the crank drag.  In simple terms:  It frees up more horsepower for the wheels.

PMI builds customized rod sets to be perfectly matched to your specifications.  PMI floating rods can ONLY be used with PMI floating rod pistons in our balanced rotating assemblies.  We strongly recommend following our crankshaft grinding procedures for optimum performance.
